so i am supposed to be this adult.. with a good job, responsible for the development and education of thousands of people who serve others who are ill; and i have knowledge, and skills, and connections (OH, those connections!), i have the wisdom of years, tempered by pain of experiences and conflicts; and i am supposed to be able to filter out the garbage and make decisions based on logic and facts and legal standards, and .. the good. how is it then, as illogical as it seems, that everything seems so orderly arranged in favor of those with the means to say how it all should be? if wisdom comes from years and experience, why do we live amidst so much unnecessary pain? maybe working overnight at a hospital makes ones brain loopy .. but here goes...
some random thoughts ..
.. a nation unilaterally attacks a soverign state, under self-proclaimed, self-perceived threat, based on flimsy, if any evidence; acted on by a questionably enthroned leader, against the will of the majority of its citizens; .... but here is the kicker .. all the world together, is powerless against this act;...
... a world political body has set a noble goal to eliminate the number of nations that has its citizens "live" on under $1US per day .. yet the same world body is powerless (or unwilling?) to sway a criminal world trade policy that favor the smallest percentage of the richest nations to profit in the trillions $US at the expense of billions who remain malnurished and too weak to be stirred to anger ...
... a major new york city government agency, working under sophisticated rules of procurement, hammers out through years of "experience", and under rigorous conflicts of interest policies, purchase professional services at 4,000% (four THOUSAND percent) above the cost of closely similar services offered by others .. (OH, those connections!!); ..
... a mother feeds her infant on a rush-hour F-Train bench .. one leg lurched over another seat, her ragged bundle under her seat .. to rude looks by on lookers; ...
... a friend who was returning home, newly invigorated from hearing the dalai lama speak in central park, is almost pushed into an on coming subway train ... to be told to: "watch where you are going!" by her assailant ..
"MY SHARONNA" .. by the Knack!!! on 104.3FM!!!! Yes! One of my fav tunes to lighen the mood! ... yyyyy ... myyyyyy ... myyyyyy ... yaaayyyyyyy SHA-ronnnAAAAA .. dumdumDUM-dumDUM-DUM....
... where was i ? ...
social justice .. human rights .. will we ever reach a point of desperation to lash out at unfair practices and change them? who will take that first step? who is moved enough?
i munch on another freedom fry .. then, three at a time! at once!! .. from my favorite Mickey D's!! (someone i admire calls them: "McShit" .. loudly through her tee shirt)
i need to clear my head, so i am going for a drive in my gas consuming, air conditioner burning, noise making, asphalt skinning toyota! .. bye.
